As the nation is on its path to economy recovery amidst the numerous extensions of CMCO (conditional movement control order), contact-less medium plays a crucial role as consumers shop and spend safely amid the third wave of Covid-19. 

Shopee needed to encourage more spending by reiterating their status as the leading online platform – and a perfect way to do that was during its 5th Birthday Bash Countdown Celebration towards 12.12 Sale. 

This exciting campaign truly demonstrated the combined power of commerce and LIVE entertainment in accelerating online purchase. 

Execution

Combined with our in-house streaming capabilities, platform, resources and talents, we were thrilled to be part of such a huge celebration.

We knew we had to pull out all the stops to create a star-studded 3-hour LIVE countdown show hosted by Dato’ AC Mizal and Fiza Frizzy. Popular artistes such as Sheila Majid, Faizal Tahir, Misha Omar, Ruffedge, Khai Bahar, Aina Abdul, Iman Troye, Dolla and many others joined in on the celebrations. 

Viewers at home stood a chance to win attractive prizes and to play games with their favorite artistes using the Shopee app to win up to 12 Million Shopee Coins, claim brand vouchers worth RM210,000 and many more amazing deals! There was also a huge RM24,000 cash prize to be won. 

Imparting the “stay home, stay safe” notion to purchasing consumers, Shopee onboarded more than 1,000 traditionally brick-and-mortar businesses on their platform. The brand also assisted 30 charitable organizations and helped underserved communities to raise funds for their respective causes. Giving more reasons for consumers to spend in support of the locals!
